Five years ago I met my husband at Thanksgiving Dinner in New Mexico. Amazing how one night can completely change everything.
These five years have been the best of my life.
Happy Anniversary, honey.
Thought you might enjoy these 2002 blog excerpts about the weekend we met:
“We had Thanksgiving dinner over at Diana and Bob’s house! I always enjoy going to houses of artists: tiled fireplaces, framed paintings, and bright colors. The food was delicious, lots of vegetarian fare. I spent the entire meal chatting with David. After stuffing ourselves, we took the dogs for a walk. Then we sampled several different pies with whipped cream and tea. A lovely evening.”
On Saturday evening “David and I grabbed tea from A.I.R. and headed down to the After-Thanksgiving Parade. Imagine lots of pickup trucks with floats… I was quite surprised by the turnout—I didn’t realize so many people lived in Silver City! :) After the parade, we headed back to Patty’s house and decorated her Christmas tree, watched some movies, chatted, and chilled. It was *quite* nice. After going to bed at an ungodly hour, I got up to meet Patty and the Leyba’s for brunch at Diane’s (usual Sunday morning ritual for our families in Silver City)…”
The rest, as they say, is history. (Talk about trying to sound low-key! I find these entries hysterical! I promise you I really gushed in my blog the next time David and I saw each other over winter break.)
happy anniversary you guys! may your blessings multiply over and over and may you be well and happy! it is done!
I can’t believe it has only been 5 years? It feels like I’ve known you for at least 10!
Happy Anniversary, Cousins! :)
Thanks, ladies!
I know, Rachel, it feels like so much longer to me too! Thanks for welcoming me into the family!
