For the first time since Miss Leyba’s arrival, we headed out of the house and took a walk around the neighborhood as a family!
Miss Leyba, such the newborn, slept through the whole thing. (We fed and changed her diaper right before we left — the ultimate recipe for a happy, sleepy baby.)
Check out my styling new nursing top! It’s all part of my plan to be a cool mom…
(as apposed to a frumpy mom — I don’t want to be one of those!)
We’re such a happy family and have so much fun together! I was totally giddy being outside and walking around.
Check out that sunshine! What a glorious day. I love winter in California.
Now we’re home and I am royally pooped. Thankfully, with David around, all I need to do is feed our daughter and rest. I’m really excited though because tomorrow we may try taking a walk in the park!
Damn, this postpartum recovery is a pain in the ass.
Sounds like a wonderful walk! I see you’ve figured out how to do the Moby wrap. The baby looks so cozy in it!
Remember…it took your body 9 months of change to grow this lovely baby ~ it just needs time to get back again. You have been through a lot, but it’s only been what almost 6 weeks since baby was born? Don’t worry, you’ll be back out and about before you know it!
Love,
Mom
What fun! Gee, I know what you mean about the brief west coast winter (the daffodils have been blooming for weeks here in southern Oregon). What a treat it is that spring comes so early!
I’m so happy for you getting out. When Julia was born on Jan. 4 in NYC, there must have been 3 feet of snow on the ground! We were totally stranded!!! When Julia was a month old, I needed to get out of the apartment so badly, I took a cab to a La Leche League meeting – our first outing. I had to plow my way through knee-deep show, clutching the baby carrier and hoping the baby was getting enough air in there under all the bundling. I sensed that this was a little of the postpartum lunacy coming out. Oh the hormones!
Do you have a porch or yard area to relax in? I’m not recovered yet from surgery, but yesterday I did make myself go sit on the deck in the one little sunny spot and get some fresh air and sunshine. Very healing!
I love the pictures!
Big hugs,
Great Auntie Deborah-Miriam
Mom: The Moby wrap is working great! I can’t wait to try it. Right now I am just focusing on walking myself around.
D-M: What a great first outing and what a hysterical story! I don’t know how you managed.
The weather has been so gorgeous! It’s such a treat. What a good idea. Now that I’m feeling better I should venture out on our porch (no privacy nor is it exactly serene, but it’s something!).
