A Brief Blog Pause
… while I keep my ankle elevated above my heart for 48 72 hours.
Yep, I’ve sprained this ankle again for the third time in two years. I’m less than thrilled.
One thing is certain: I’m doing PT this time.

Oh no!! I cant even remember how many times Ive rolled or sprained my ankles – ugh, but yes, please do PT!! I have a standing appointment with my fabulous PT in France and she does my knees (from that awful luge accident two years ago) and strengthens my ankles, AND does a stress relief neck massage every week – all prescribed by my doctor! It is a HUGE help – and Ive read that the sooner you do PT, the better – DONT WAIT!
Oh no! Feel better soon!
so sorry Carrie — hopefully PT will help strengthen that ankle…
*hearts* feel better!
oh noooo! as you likely know, this is a particular weak spot for me too… i can’t stress doing the PT enough. i sprained my poor ankle over and over for YEARS before a doctor finally asked why i had never gone to PT, and i was like “oh. um.. because no other doctor ever suggested i should..?”
2 years later and they are strong as can be. 3 seasons of frisbee so far and even if i’ve come down poorly on my ankle, it’s strong enough to self-correct now and not tear any futher ligaments.
it’s such a pain (literally!) while you’re waiting for it to heal though :( speedy recovery wishes!!
Oh no ~ Sending you hugs ~ Glad you’ve got your foot up! Looks swollen ~ so sorry to hear this. Glad you’ll be getting PT — your friends have offered good advice.. xoxo
Oh no! :-( Hope you’re ok. My best pal of 30 years is a physical therapist and she says it makes ALL the difference in recovery…but people just don’t bother to do it. Absolutely go if you can! I’ve done it for knee and ankle and the exercises still serve me well.
Thank you all for your kind words of support! xoxo
