David’s father just drove over a thousand miles to bring us the dollhouse David’s maternal great-grandfather made for David’s grandmother when she was a little girl in the 1930s.
We have a fun decorating project ahead of us! We need to paint, decorate and furnish the dollhouse for our daughter.
Look at those molding details! What a beautiful dollhouse.
In preparing for this project, we found some adorable dollhouses on the internet to inspire our decorating efforts.

I can’t tell you how jealous I am! That doll house is gorgeous, and what an incredible heirloom. Have fun!
How beautiful and such a treasure to have!
How wonderful to picture a loving grandfather driving for so many hours to bring his granddaughter this special heirloom! The dollhouse itself is a treasure, and the act of grandpa-kindness in delivering it adds a sparkling gem to the ever-growing family story of this historic piece. I hope Miss Leyba truly enjoys it for everything it is.
Oh my gosh, I’m drooling! What a beautiful gift–and well worth the drive! I can’t wait to see what you do with it! I loved dollhouses as a girl and always wanted a giant one…trying to think if we have space for one of our own now!
Thanks, everyone! We’re so excited to embark on this special project.
