Giveaway: Super Natural Every Day Cookbook

I’ve written before about my love of Heidi Swanson’s cookbooks and her award-winning recipe site, 101 Cookbooks. To shake things up here on the Creative Salad, I thought it would be fun to offer a giveaway of her most recent cookbook, Super Natural Every Day: Well-loved Recipes from My Natural Foods Kitchen that was published earlier this year.

Super Natural Every Day Cookbook

I love this book for its healthy, flavorful recipes that the whole family can enjoy. Plus the pictures are pure eye candy.

  1. Great giveaway. The last recipe I tried was a dairy free chicken and rice recipe. Such great comfort food! However, I felt a bit bad because we only had white rice – is it bad that I don’t find white rice to be ‘natural’ anymore? Hey… at least it had organic carrots…

  2. What a beautiful cookbook! I’d love to try some new recipes, since hubby is complaining about the standards …

  3. Ooooh! Cookbooks are like porn to me! I love all things food and cooking and am always looking for healthy inspiration. I would love to win this cookbook. I have also subscribed to you blog and liked your page on facebook!

  4. Oh, but I already ‘like’ the Creative Salad! I like cooking too, but I haven’t done much lately since I now live in a shared house with a shared kitchen and I’m introverted like that. I think the last thing that qualifies was miso soup, which is super easy. Any soup tastes good with a little miso thrown in.

  5. Beautiful cookbook! Count me in!! We’ve been enjoying our favorite salad: Tossed greens, chick peas, olives, pan sauted zucchini slices, chopped pan browned raw cashews tossed with hot brown basmati rice and lemon-basil vinagrette. The hot rice wilts the greens a bit and it’s delicious!

  6. Oh – Would love to give it a try! Working on my cooking skills . . . which are virtually nonexistent :) Do I get an extra entry if I already ‘liked’ you? Subscribed in my reader too :)

  7. I’ve been using Heidi’s recipe for whole-grain pancakes, more or less, for months now. this is such an inspiring cookbook! I think I need to try that ginger cookies recipe… thanks for reminding me :)

  8. Oh I love heidi too, would adore this book and sharing it with my mom who’d love it as well. 2 of my favorites from Heidi are the crunchy cornbread and the blackened brussels sprouts, both on her site. Both changed my relationships to those foods (cornmeal, brussels sprouts) for the better. Great give away idea Carrie, and great taste!

  9. Looks awesome! I love to try new recipes and to experiment with seasonal produce. Latest exciting cooking endeavor was baking a pumpkin, stuffed with breadcrumbs, chipotle peppers, cheese, garlic and a little bit of bacon. Delicious and beautiful!

  10. The cookbook looks inspiring – I’m so in need of new cooking inspiration… :-)
The roasted chickpeas sound absolutely delicious!!

  11. It looks beautiful! And I am super in need of healthful cooking inspiration.

Favorite recent recipe totally made up (Mongolian Rice Concoction Thing):

Basmati rice, cooked with golden and brown raisins, tons of onion, chicken, and piles of cumin, corriander, cinnamon, and a bayleaf. Slivered almonds too if they’re around.

I made it up with a friend one night – pretty high in carbs, but deliciously satisfying with very few ingredients necessary. Yum yum!
