Holiday Weekend

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Our dear friend Kate-Robin flew up from San Diego to celebrate with us — the best holiday gift ever. We cooked an amazing feast of garlic mashed potatoes, cranberry-apple stuffing, crab wrapped in sole with a blueberry cream sauce, salad, pumpkin cheesecake and pecan pie with ice cream, and spent hours chatting and catching up. We couldn’t help but feel grateful for our good friends and healthy, happy family.

David comes home later today and I cannot wait! Making noodle kugel to celebrate.

For over a week now I have been sleeping through the night for the first time in several months. Either I am getting used to the baby’s kicks and able to sleep through them (ha!) or the additional vitamin B-12 that I’ve been taking has had a huge impact (David and I are both B-12 deficient). Whatever the reason, I feel like a new woman. I figure I had better enjoy it while it lasts.

New bedroom curtains. New and improved site.

Welcome to our new and improved family journal, now proudly powered by WordPress! Here you can view each others comments and link to individual posts (rather than just the monthly archives). Hopefully this will encourage more commenting and discussion. WordPress is also easier for me to use, so hopefully updates will be more frequent in the future.

In the meantime, please bear with us as we work out the kinks. (And do leave comments if you stumble upon any errors.) As always, this site looks better with Firefox than Internet Explorer. (And I don’t have a Mac anymore, so lord knows how it looks on Safari.)

Photography Portfolio

I have a host of to-dos before the baby arrives: finish unpacking, order layette and baby gear (unpack, wash, put away), create a photo album with my favorite photos from our wedding, stock the freezer, move this journal over to WordPress (almost done!), etc.

One of the projects that has been on the back burner, but that I have strongly wanted to complete, is an updated photography portfolio. It’s been mostly done for over a year, needing just those final touches and corrections before the final upload. So, after an evening of coding and adding an events section, my new photography portfolio is live. Please check it out and let me know what you think!

As always, it’s a work in progress. (Though who knows when I’ll get around to updating it again once the baby gets here!)
