You were so, so good to us.
Here’s to a busy, fun 2010! With a little one around, we can pretty much bet it won’t be anything but that for us. Hope the same goes for you as well!
See you in 2010!

The three of us are so enjoying our staycation together. A little bit of relaxation, recuperation (from head cold #3), night-weaning (going very, very smoothly; see my updates on Facebook for more info!) and busy working on projects over here in Spritzer Leyba Land…
These past few weeks have been full of joyous holiday celebrations. We hosted our entire street for a wine and cheese holiday party. We celebrated with friends and cooked scores of latkes for several Hannukah parties (and celebrated at our house each night too). Of course, we were living so in the moment and having such fun that we forgot to take pictures. Very typical, Spritzer Leyba behavior. Sorry about that.
The daily rituals have been fun this year and Miss Leyba has absorbed and embraced them so quickly. Each day, Miss Leyba would repeat “Sun go down, light the menorah!” or “Sun go down, see holiday lights!” or “Sun go down, open presents! Sun, go down! Go down! Open presents!” She has been most enthusiastic.
Yesterday, as we cuddled and celebrated at home while nursing colds, we finally had a quiet moment for Mama to remember to take photos. So, here you go. Our Christmas celebration.
Happy holidays, everyone! May you stay warm in this time of darkness and look forward to the light!
And, yes, David is wearing shorts and sandals. It’s lovely here in California. :)
Check out the photos from our yoga class that were in today’s paper:
We’ve been taking this class for over two years now (yep, I did it while I was pregnant too!). We just love it, both for the exercise and the social time as well. And, yes, I am breastfeeding during boat pose (second photo down). Clearly, I deserve a gold medal.
You can see the rest of the photos, including many more of Miss Leyba and I doing yoga together, at the Press Democrat’s website. Thank you to Mark for the fantastic photos. We are thrilled to have been included and just love how you captured our time together in class.
Miss Leyba so enjoyed pressing cloves into these mandarin orange slices. We then backed them in the oven at a low heat to dehydrate them and, presto, we have beautiful, homemade holiday decorations!
